Solace Financial was founded in 2014 to help people make informed decisions about an area of life that’s often confusing: protecting themselves, their families and their businesses.
Mike Connellan
I’ve worked in the New Zealand insurance industry since 2005, with experience both inside the insurers and as an adviser.
After many years with one of New Zealand’s largest life insurers, first as a Training Consultant and then as a Business Development Manager, I wanted to put my knowledge to better use by helping clients directly. So in 2014, my wife Mareesa and I founded Solace Financial Limited.
Nobody teaches us about insurance as we grow up. We have to work it out as we go. I believe everyone deserves sound advice on how to protect their lifestyle, their family and their business, and that the job doesn’t end once the policy is in place. I work with clients right across New Zealand, keep in touch as life changes, review their cover, and I’m there to manage the process at claim time.
We chose the name Solace because it means comfort in a time of great distress. That’s what the right cover, and the right support at claim time, should bring.
Mareesa Connellan
With a background in Occupational Therapy and many years as a carer, Mareesa has always had a passion for helping people.
She co-founded Solace Financial with Mike, and shares his belief that support at claim time matters most. Being treated like a number in the system when something goes wrong is stressful and frustrating. At Solace, we work hard to take control of your claim and make the process as smooth and simple as possible.
